Custom Chassis HowTo - Paid Support

  • PreRequisites
    • You have a sample part of each item to be used in hand
    • You have a sample part which we're to use as reference
    • You have allowed sufficient time to design, modify, build the parts
    • You have a contingency plan for production and costs over-runs
    • You have the project budget to build a custom chassis and subsequent production run
    • Sketches are not useful, other than rough idea

  • General Comments
    • Most autocad design changes can be a day work for modifying an existing new chassis
    • Even a simple screw hole change can be up to 2 hrs of "paperwork"
      • think carefully before making design changes

  • Rate Schedule
    • Our Hourly AutoCAD rates are $250.oo/hr
      • 2 hr minimum, 1hr increments
      • we pay our autocad designers
      • traveling time are also billed

    • We can also bid based on "Fixed Price"
      • Any changes from original specs are billed at the $250/hr rates

    • All deposits are non-refundable, non-cancellable, non-negotiable

    • Work does NOT start until 50% deposit has been received

    • 25% discount off rates if prepaid in full, in advance

  • Prototypes
    • We've made lots of various changes with the various sheet metal vendors
      • they know how to interpret our drawings
      • we know how to draw the chassis for their interpretation
      • each sheet metal shop has different equipment and tools

    • Get 2 or 3 quotes from various sheetmetal vendors including the production run

    • Prototypes typically takes 2-3 weeks for delivery

    • Production run of 100 - 200 units typically takes 4-6 weeks for delivery
      • for time critical orders, always use 2 different "tested" vendors

  • Deliverables
    • we retain all the rights to your drawings for future use/edit by others
    • CDROM with your modified autocad files
      • full payment must be made PRIOR to delivery of the cdrom
    • includes a pdf file of the chassis for quotes
    • Additional documentation per your specs ( examples )
    • Prototypes of the finished chassis if ordered as part of the purchase order
